Winstrol or Stanozolol is one of the most popular anabolic steroids for losing body fat and weight. A derivative of dihydrotestosterone, Winstrol (commonly known as Winny) is characterized by quite mild activity when compared to other drugs with similar chemical origins.
The chemical name of Stanozolol is 17-methyl-2′ H -5(alpha)-androst-2-eno [3,2- c ]pyrazol-17(beta)-ol and it has the molecular weight of 344.5392 g/mol at the base. The anabolic-androgenic ratio of this steroid compound is 320:30 and it has the molecular formula of C22H36N2O. The active life of oral Winstrol is 8-9 hours, while the active life of injectable Winstrol is 36-48 hours. The active ingredient of Winstrol tablets is 2 mg of stanozolol and inactive ingredients include Dibasic Calcium Phosphate, D&C Red #28, FD&C Red #40, Lactose, Magnesium Stearate, and Starch.
It is generally believed that the injectable version of Winny is superior to oral version in the context of nitrogen retention, which means that injectable Winstrol users enjoy preservation and buildup of lean body mass in a better way than oral Winstrol users. Moreover, injectable Winstrol negates the first pass of the compound to pass easily through the liver and is less toxic. However, the injectable version may cause pain at the injection site when administered. Injectable Winstrol can be taken orally as well because of unique structure of the compound.
One of the biggest benefits of Winstrol is that users admiring it can expect a dry look to physique if the body fat is relatively low. Commonly used as a cutting cycle drug, Stanozolol has the unique potential of improving nitrogen retention and protein synthesis to a significant extent. Use of this performance enhancing drug is also associated with strengthened tendons and ligaments. Winny has a significant effect on sex hormone-binding globulin levels in the body and can temporarily prevent steroid hormones from exerting their activities, primarily because of its plasma-binding characteristics. By doing this, Winstrol leads to an improved percentage of free testosterone circulating in the body that may further enhance the potency of concurrently used anabolic steroids.
Classified as a controlled substance under the Anabolic Steroids Control Act of 1990 and assigned to Schedule III, Winstrol can reduce the level of high-density lipoproteins and raise the level of low-density lipoproteins. Winny use is associated with increased low-density lipoproteins and decreased high-density lipoproteins and effective in controlling the frequency and severity of attacks of angioedema and in increasing serum levels of C1 INH and C4. Winstrol effects on improving serum levels of C1 INH and C4 are attributed to an increase in protein anabolism.
The weight and fat loss drug is popular with women and beginners as well because of its anabolic nature and very few androgenic side effects. When used in doses of 25-100 mg per day by men and 5-15 mg per day by women, Winstrol can lead to dramatic gains and the best part is that these gains are nearly permanent. Use of this performance enhancing drug should not be made for a period exceeding six weeks at a stretch. In case the duration has to be extended, users should emphasize on monitoring the liver values through blood tests to avoid permanent damage.
When abused or of a low grade, Winstrol may lead to side effects such as elevated liver values, liver toxicity, negative effects on cholesterol levels, acne, prostate enlargement, aggravation of male pattern baldness, deepening of the voice, body/facial hair growth, and enlargement of the clitoris. Medically, this anabolic steroid is recommended prophylactically to decrease the frequency and severity of attacks of angioedema.
The abuse of Winstrol may cause increased bromsulphalein (BSP) retention, and increases in serum bilirubin, glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase (SGOT), and alkaline phosphatase. Winstrol abuse may even lead to cholestatic jaundice with, rarely, hepatic necrosis and death. It may even cause inhibition of testicular function, testicular atrophy and oligospermia, impotence, chronic priapism, epididymitis and bladder irritability, edema, retention of serum electrolytes (sodium, chloride, potassium, phosphate, and calcium).
Use of this anabolic steroid and performance enhancing drug is not recommended to females with breast cancer and hypercalcemia, male patients with breast cancer or those examined for or suffering from prostate cancer. The drug is not recommended to pregnant or lactating women or those who may get pregnant while using Winstrol. It is also not advised to children or those having allergy to Stanozolol or its ingredients. Medical advice should be sought immediately if side effects such as abdominal pain, light colored stools, dark colored urine, unusual fatigue, nausea or vomiting, or yellowing of the skin or eyes are experienced as these may be early signs of liver complications. Use of Winstrol is not recommended to those suffering from health problems like testicular atrophy, testicular cancer, prostate cancer, breast cancer, liver damage, kidney damage, stroke, high blood pressure, and respiratory problems. Stanozolol abuse may even lead to health complications such as increased or decreased libido, habituation, excitation, insomnia, depression, bleeding in patients on concomitant anticoagulant therapy, premature closure of epiphyses in children, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
Men using this steroid may even experience coughs, insomnia, night sweats and cardiac irregularities. Two dosages of Winstrol should not be taken together at the same time, even if the first dose was missed accidentally. In case the first Winstrol dosage was missed, it should be skipped and the next dose should be taken at the scheduled time.
In case of expired Winstrol tablets or if the tablets or injections are not to be used any more, the same should be discarded after having consulting a pharmacist or local waste disposal company on how to safely discard Winstrol. It is highly recommended that Winstrol should not be flushed down the toilet or poured into a drain, unless specifically recommended by a qualified authority. Winstrol tablets or injections should be properly discarded, when expired or no longer needed. Winstrol must be stored at a controlled room temperature of 20° to 25°C (68° to 77°F) with excursions permitted to 15° to 30°C (59° to 86°F) and kept away from unauthorized use, pets, sunlight, moisture, heat, sources of ignition, and children.
